Assisting Patrons with Mental Disorders Across Library Settings

Monday, June 6

Four-week course: Monday, June 6 – Sunday, July 3, 2022.

The National Alliance of Mental Illness estimates that one in five children, teens, and adults suffer from a mental illness. With libraries functioning as a hub of the communities they serve, librarians must be prepared to serve patrons struggling with mental health issues. This course will provide librarians with the necessary knowledge and skills to address common mental disorders, as well as ways in which librarians can balance their own mental health needs in a demanding profession.

CALL SPONSORED: CALL is offering a limited number of free seats to California library staff in this Library Juice Academy course. Please use the link above to register for one of these no-cost seats. In order to gain the most impact from learning events sponsored by the CALL grant we ask that all participants engage fully (attend, participate, discuss and share). If you are unable or not willing to agree to this, please be kind and leave a seat or place for someone else.
