The Children’s Internet Protection Act, more commonly referred to as CIPA, has long been associate with clunky and restrictive filtering requirements that can seem overwhelming or undesirable to libraries. We will break down how compliance has evolved since its inception over 20 years ago, what the requirements are, and methods for compliance.

Compliance opens a world of funding for Internet-accessible devices, Internet access funding, and network infrastructure upgrades that would otherwise be unattainable without compliance.  With California – and many of California’s public libraries – progressively moving forward as leaders in digital equity, and with libraries at the hearts of their communities, compliance and funding can be a game-changer.

You will hear from Ventura County Library, who just went through the process of becoming compliant and will share their experience and lessons learned.

Sign up for this refresher on CIPA and a conversation on compliance and adoption.
