Library services are for everyone, and that includes the blind and those with visual impairments. In this workshop, you will learn how to make your library more accessible for blind and low vision members of your community. This workshop will cover how to arrange physical spaces in your library, tips for training staff, collection development advice, and how to ensure that your technology and online presence are accessible. Ensure your library is welcoming for all through the simple steps offered in this session.
After participating in this event, you will:
- Understand the needs of blind and low vision users of your library
- Know how to design physical spaces and services to maximize accessibility for individuals with visual disabilities
- Understand how to evaluate electronic sources, websites, and other online content for visual accessibility
