Managing Change When You’re Not in Charge: How to Keep Your Sanity During Organizational Change*
Wednesday, November 2 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
(A recording will be available under the CALL Academy People Connect Institute category one week after delivery)
In this program you’ll discover your power in the organization even when you are not in charge and learn about giving feedback to your supervisor to influence a change process and get better results.
Consider how people in organizations typically respond to change. How you respond to change, and how this affects the overall library. Think about expectations around the terms’ “transparency” and “feedback” and how to build stronger relationships within your organization.
At the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
- Understand human systems theory in order to apply these concepts to typical organizational change dynamics
- Analyze your role in your library system in order to consider how you personally contribute to library culture and how you can change current dynamics
- Recognize important concepts of transparency and feedback in order to reconsider how this terminology is used in day-to-day work
