Seguimos Creando Enlaces: Civic Engagement in Action

Seguimos Creando Enlaces (Creating Connections) is a free conference that fosters community connections and cultural diversity in public, academic, and special libraries. The goal of this year’s event is for library workers from the US, Mexico, and across the globe to share best practices and build more inclusive library spaces for all. Registration is free and now open.
Seguimos Creando Enlaces is presented by the Southern California Library Cooperative in partnership with the SERRA Library Cooperative, California State Library, Library 2.0 Virtual Conference Series, and the School of Information at San José State University. This conference is supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
Now in its 9th year, the 2021 conference will be held fully online, with options to view live presentations in English and Spanish. The conference committee welcomes presentations that demonstrate how public, academic, and special libraries support civic engagement and social change. Examples include: libraries and voter participation, Census 2020 collaboration, citizenship education, service learning, community conversations.
The theme for Seguimos Creando Enlaces conference in 2021 will be Civic Engagement in Action. This conference year will be completely virtual in partnership with the School of Information at San José State University and Library 2.0.
