Seminar Four: Crisis Prevention Institute
July 15, 2021 @ 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
Apply to participate. You will indicate your training date preference in the application.
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) is one of the nation’s pre-eminent conflict de-escalation trainers. A number of California libraries have trained with CPI and have given it highly favorable ratings: “staff got the tools they needed to face any situation [and] came out of the training revitalized,” says one director. Verbal Intervention (VI) trains staff to respond to crisis situations with a focus on de-escalation techniques and safe, non-restrictive interventions.
There is limited seating for each training (30 seats for each date). We’ll accept applications from library jurisdictions, rather than from individuals. Each jurisdiction may apply for one to six seats, and we’ll allocate according to demand (you may receive fewer seats than you request). Jurisdictions with more than 10 branches may submit more than one application.
