Using Data to Understand Your Community’s Interests, Attitudes, and Preferences

October 7 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Register for this free, 45-minute online training.

This workshop from Gale is intended for libraries that use Gale Analytics, although anyone is welcome to attend.

Attend this 45-minute training to learn how to use the Community Insights Dashboard and the Segmentation Portal to identify common interests, attitudes, and preferences in your area.

We will look at the dominant segments in a sample Tableau dashboard and discuss how one might respond or take action on the data. Use this information as a model in reading your own results for the purpose of collections, services, and programming decisions.

After this session, you will understand how to:

  • Identify the largest segments in your community
  • Identify those segments you connect with the least
  • Identify the interests, hobbies, tech behaviors, political leanings, etc. of those in your area
  • Identify, map, and connect with those groups that are the most likely to make contributions to community organizations
