Horror Reader’s Advisory: How to Help Your Scariest Patrons

A recent poll of thousands of library workers identified Horror as one of the Top 5 genres they were “most scared of,” and yet, the genre is basking in a popularity among our patrons that hasn’t been seen in decades.

Mental Health Self-Care (PLP)

Living in “unprecedented times” is incredibly challenging. The amount of change and loss around us is overwhelming, and we need fresh tools for working well under the strain. These three highly interactive two-hour zoom workshops are designed to facilitate conversation, connection, and equip teams for working well together, remotely. This workshop is presented by Karin Peabody of Dynamic Teaming. Participants will receive a link to the session via email.

Sustainability in Libraries

Library leaders must mobilize to ensure libraries take an active, visible role in building sustainable and resilient communities, particularly in light of the events of 2020. Our future depends on citizens who are able to work together with empathy, respect, and understanding to adapt to the many challenges and opportunities facing society today. As we struggle with the concurrent challenges of COVID-19, the resulting financial crisis, the political landscape and the increasing effects of climate change, we also find opportunities in these moments such as the rise of the Black Lives Matter/Solidarity Movement in the face of the “I Can’t Breathe” protests and an increasing call for locally driven solutions to problems impacting us on a global scale.
