The state legislature is currently working on restoring access to LSTA funding to the State Library’s budget. While that happens, the California Libraries Learn (CALL) project will pause for a short period of time starting at the end of the day on Friday, September 12, 2025. The State Library and the California Library Association will restart CALL as soon as possible when funding access is restored. We appreciate the patience of the California library community, and we look forward to offering more free professional development and continuing education opportunities soon.
How will this pause affect you as a CALL learner?
- If you register for a learning event supported by grant funds that starts after September 13th you will receive a notification from CALL about the status of your seat prior to the event start date. Please stay tuned to your inbox and make call@cla-net.org an approved sender to ensure receipt of these messages.
- All referral events listed on the CALL Calendar will still be available to you. To identify these, use the filter sidebar on the left of the calendar and choose “referral” under the drop down list for “Host” then click on “Apply.” Only the referrals for each month will show up. NOTE: CALL can not provide learner support for these events.
- CALL staff will not be available for troubleshooting or consultation during this time.
- This is your chance to dive into the wealth of self-paced learning in CALL Academy which will remain available to you during this pause until September 30, unless we notify you otherwise.. Browse the Recently Added category for new content like the popular Giving Engaging Presentations or Storytime Success.
- Gather a cohort of learners from your library and work through the many exercises and worksheets from the Co-Design Trail Guide to prepare for community engagement activities.
Our motto during this break is “Stay Calm and Keep Learning!” CALL will be back as soon as we possibly can with more opportunities to learn and grow. Questions? Email call@cla-net.org. Thank you for your understanding and support during this time.
